Throughout thousands of years many people have different perceptions of who Jesus was. Some said he was a lunatic. Others said that He has a demon. Jesus asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” He said to them,”Who do you say that I am?” And Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, The Son of the Living God.” Then one was brought to Jesus who was demon-possessed, blind and mute, and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. All the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?” But when the Pharisees (Religious Leaders) heard they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the rulers of demons”. Jesus spoke openly about who He was; He describes Himself as: 1. “I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world” 2. “I am the Light of the World. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” 3. “I am the door of the sheep, if anyone enters by Me, he shall be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that you they may have life, and that they may have more abundantly.” I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 4. “I am the Resurrection and the life, He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me, shall never die. Do you believe this?” 5. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but except through Me. 6. “I am the true vine and my father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not produce fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bears more fruits. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in Him bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 7. I am the First and the Last. Jesus says, “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will confess before My Father who is in heaven” Jesus is in our midst today asking you, WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?
